Audrey Smith is a young creative from Boone, North Carolina. Her interest in filmmaking sparked from watching old Hollywood movies with her dad growing up, and she recently completed her Bachelor's degree in Film Studies Program from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Audrey has a passion for storytelling and wishes to use her work to showcase subjects that may often go unrepresented. Inspired by the rapid development and displacement in her hometown, Audrey wanted to create "wilminGton" to shed light on the dangers of gentrification in downtown Wilmington, with a focus on the businesses experiencing  the effects who's voices may not be heard by policymakers and developers.

“wilminGton” is a documentary created by Audrey Smith and co-worked with Jaylen LeBron. This documentary is prevalent to show audiences the effect gentrification has on our community. Not only is this happening in our local community, but is something that occurs all over the world, especially as cities begin to grow. This documentary is meant to create exposure so communities know how they affect gentrification and what they can do in regards to their community.
